Usually people will attack the preacher when he says something that they don’t like to hear.
Most of the time people like to hear that there are blessings in store for them, but when the preacher points out that there is an other side as well, and that there is a curse on going against God’s will (read Deuteronomy 28:15-68) they cast the preacher out, or if they can’t do that, they leave the church themselves.
Some will even go soft on an unrepentant sinner who is willingly rejecting the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
When you tell them that they’ll go to hell if they don’t repent and ask for forgiveness, the preacher becomes a hater, or a self-righteous person who has no eyes for the others.
They will tell the preacher that God is love, and that he really doesn’t know God, or understand His love. They completely are ignorant of the fact that God is righteous as well and that He will judge us one day.
Our Father is certainly not a God who approves of evil; sinful people cannot dwell with Him. And arrogant people cannot stand in His presence; He hates all who behave wickedly. And destroys liars; the LORD despises violent and deceitful people. (Psalms 5:4-6)
Don’t forget that we have all Sinned. And therefore come short to enter the glory of God.
Let no man deceive you, God’s love is only in Christ Jesus. Without the Christ you cannot experience God’s Love.
But when you belong to the Christ you may rest assure that nothing in creation will be able to separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
You may just know Jesus the Christ with your mind, but not yet by heart.
As long as you don’t know Him by heart you have a knowledge that will not save you. And as long as you continue in your sins you are on the broad way to hell.
Jesus said, “I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
