Matthew 10:38-39 NASB
³⁸And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
³⁹He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.
Devotional
Jesus wants us to seriously look into our hearts and surrender those things that hold us back from fully following and serving him.
We know what they are.
He comes to us with his now nail-scarred hands and reminds us that He gave up everything to redeem us.
He now wants us to surrender all the things that hold us back.
Let’s do it today!
Prayer suggestions
- Ask God for forgiveness for keeping hidden the areas of your life that you didn’t want to surrender
- Surrender them now and confess those secret areas of sin to Him.
- Ask God to cleanse you and liberate you from Satan’s power that binds them to you and holds you back from the wholehearted service to His Son.
- Thank God for His Spirit Who is working in you now, cultivating you to become fruitful
