John 10:7-10
⁷So Jesus said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I AM THE DOOR of the sheep. ⁸All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. ⁹I AM THE DOOR; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. ¹⁰The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
In these verses Jesus compares Himself to the door of the sheep fold and warns the hearers that the false man that were going around before Him were no more than thieves and robbers.
Also we are warned that the only way in, is through the door. Only through Him we are able to enter, and only through Him we can be saved and will we be fed with good food.
Jesus also warned us that the thief only comes to steal and kill and destroy. Those thieves will not be allowed to enter through the door (through Him) so he climbs in some other way
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. (John 10:1)
Further Jesus also warned us in Matthew 24:11 that “Many false prophets will arise and (that they) will mislead many”.
But said Jesus “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
So let us, no matter what happens, always stay close to the Shepherd.
