Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Devotional
Revelation 3:20-22
²⁰Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
²¹He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
²²He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
Christ is my strength, and my life.
Several years ago I knew a man who was outstanding in business. He told me that on one occasion he had secured an order for one million dollars worth of merchandise.
Later on I heard that he during his last illness had said “I have accomplished nothing.”
It is a pity when a person after a life of working and saving up money, must come to the conclusion that his life has been in vain, that he in fact accomplished nothing.
He had poured time, talent, and energy into his effort to achieve success as a salesman. During all the years he pursued it, and Christ was left standing on the outside of his life.
Now the man was passing out of this world as a successful businessman – but nothing more than that.
One day each of us will be faced by death.
We shall die as we have lived.
▪︎ Are you living now in the Christian way?
▪︎ Is your work undertaken in the spirit of dependence upon God?
▪︎ Is your work such that you accomplish it with the added blessing of Christ’s approval and strength ?
If your lives is hidden in the Christ, you can do all things in Him who strengthens you.
Prayer suggestions
Knowing that we, in ourselves cannot live victoriously, in the way that the Lord wants us to live,
▪︎ Ask the Lord to teach you to put your faith in Him.
▪︎ Ask the Lord to help you to continue in life under the guidance of His will and blessed by His strength.
