Ecclesiastes 2:17 NASB
So I hated life,
for the work which had been done
under the sun was grievous to me;
because everything is futility
and striving after wind.
King James Version
Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.
Knowing that you will leave earthly things behind should prompt you to take hold of the spiritual things.
King Solomon went out of his way to taste the other aspects of life and to acquire material things, but they could not give him the true satisfaction that God gives His children.
He concluded that all is meaningless and a chasing after the wind.
Dear friends, the material things you are struggling to acquire do not give true satisfaction; you won’t carry them to heaven.
True satisfaction is in the relationship you can have with the Christ and the spiritual inheritance we have in Him.
Focus on Jesus and on heavenly things, and you will be satisfied with the life that God has given you.
¹Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ,
keep seeking the things above, where Christ is,
seated at the right hand of God.
²Set your mind on the things above,
not on the things that are on earth.
When you continue to follow Jesus, your joy and peace will not be taken away from you.
▪︎ Ask God to help you to focus on Him and your heavenly calling.
