Several great truths are taught us in the opening chapters of the Bible.
- First, we are made in God’s image, both male and female.
- Second, we are made to be different (male and female).
- Third, we are made to bless each other and be complements of one another.
- Fourth, a husband and wife were made to leave their families of origin and build their lives together.
To find a spouse for life, one created by God in His image, is to find what is truly good and what God truly desires.
Prayer suggestions
▪︎ Thank the Lord for His plan for your life.
▪︎ If you are married thank the Lord for your spouse and ask for His help in blessing and fulfilling that person in every way.
▪︎ If you are widowed ask the Lord to comfort your feelings of loss and grief, and thank Him for the special person through whom He has blessed your life.
▪︎ If you are single ask the Lord to help you to know the path for your life and use you to bless others in the way that you live with integrity and faithfulness.
▪︎ If you are divorced ask the Lord to minister to your sense of loss and that He will use you to serve Him and bring Him glory.
