1 John 2:15
Do not love the world
nor the things in the world.
If anyone loves the world,
the love of the Father is not in him.
As sinners are cleaved to the world and have a pronounced love for that world, so with the Father there is love for sinners. It is also a one-sided elective love.
The Lord knew that love towards Abram, Rahab and Ruth.
It is also saving, cleansing and sacrificial love.
It is the love which the Father has and makes of Himself to and in His elect and believers.
That Father pours out His love into sinners’ hearts through the operation of the Holy Spirit. As a result, they come to boast of Paul… and I live, yet no longer I, but Christ, lives in me.
The urgent question now is, does that love live in your heart.
Then you have another heart or rather another has your heart.
Then He is Lord and Master.
It is good to live from that love of the Father.
In that love He gives everything we need.
