1 John 2:6
the one who says he abides in Him
ought himself to walk in the same manner
as He walked.
The great question that matters in our lives is:
“Are we united to the Lord Jesus by sincere faith?”
If so, we are in Him.
Many think they are bound to Him by birth, baptism, or the Word by which you live.
That may give you a good feeling, but that is not what it is. You must be IN Him.
When the Holy Spirit works true faith in you, He unites you to Christ, so that the life that is in Him may be in you too.
You are then to some extent conformed to the Image of Christ.
The closer the union with Christ is, the more so will it be.
How do you know?
Well, that comes out in the fruit.
You must then walk as He walked.
Your mind is then reformed after His thoughts.
What He felt, you will feel too.
What is His delight becomes your delight also.
What is His sorrow becomes your sorrow also.
The sense that is in Christ Jesus comes in you also.
You will walk as He walked.
That is your prayer and desire.
For you feel more and more deeply that you can do nothing without Him.
But through Him you may glorify God in all your walk.
