1 John 2:6
the one who says he abides in Him
ought himself to walk in the same manner
as He walked.
John is the apostle of love.
That doesn’t mean he’s soft, though.
With the sharpness of a sharp two-edged sword he speaks.
John puts it this way: “He that saith, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and in him is not the truth.”
That is clear language.
You can say you know Jesus, but if you don’t take His commandments to heart, you’re a liar.
Then you can still talk about the truth, but then that truth is only on the outside, not in your heart.
It is so to say: not only words, but also deeds!
Do you know Jesus, do you really know Him?
Than this should be visible in our way of life.
Whoever knows Jesus, acts like Jesus.
John says, “Let him walk as he walked.”
The life of the Lord Jesus was marked by love to His Father and love to His commandments. Whoever follows Him in that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, may say it, “I know Jesus.”
