1 John 2:2
And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins;
and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
If God shows you your sins, you may fear that your sins are too bad and too many to be forgiven.
The devil likes to bring this thought to you, and urge you to stop praying, and believing in Him, just put an end to it. He’s causes you to think that there is no forgiveness for you anymore. You have gone too far… That liar from the beginning always does.
▪︎ First he will deceive you and reduce sin to tempt you into it – it’s not that bad…
▪︎ and then when you did it, he will diminish the grace of God, to bring you into despair – there is no forgiveness for you anymore.
Rather, listen to the Word of the living God.
That doesn’t deceive you.
▪︎ If your sins begin to afflict you.
▪︎ If you’re afraid there is no forgiveness for you, look to this Word. “And He is the propitiation for our sins.”
He alone, He made the sacrifice.
He has opened the Fountain against all sin and uncleanness.
Yea, even if you have the the sin of all the world, yet there is forgiveness for you in the blood of the Lamb.
That is what the apostle means to say, “His propitiation is sufficient for the sins of the whole world”.
So take refuge with Jesus.
▪︎ Outside of Him there is no reconciliation.
▪︎ Outside of faith in Him there is only damnation.
