Leviticus 6:20
This is the offering which Aaron and his sons are to present to the Lord on the day when he is anointed; the tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a regular grain offering, half of it in the morning and half of it in the evening.
Devotional
The high priest and his sons are also called to offer their sacrifices to God. It is precisely stated what they should offer and how they should prepare it.
The gift of the priests to the LORD is to be brought by the high priest. Unlike the members of the people, this tribute offering goes up in smoke in its entirety. None of it is to be eaten by Aaron’s house. All is for the Lord, as the existence of the priests from their anointing should be wholly for God, and consecrated and prepared for His service and praise.
Perfectly do we know this dispensation in Him who is greater than Aaron. The High Priest is fully before God from His anointing. He puts His own life at the Father’s disposal out of love, and wholly willingly and obediently. He makes the sacrifice on behalf of His house.
It is indeed a sweet savor unto the LORD.
In Him God is well pleased, and for Him in all His own.
