so that you too may have fellowship with us;
and indeed our fellowship is with the Father,
and with His Son Jesus Christ.
That which we have seen and heard, we declare to you!
Along with many other witnesses, he saw the risen Savior. He has heard His voice.
On the night after His resurrection, the Lord Jesus appeared to His disciples. They were startled and afraid. They thought they saw a ghost. The Lord Jesus reassures them, saying, “Behold My hands and My feet; for it is I Myself.”
After seeing, hearing, and feeling Him, they are commanded, “Bear witness of these things.” On the day of Jesus’s resurrection, the disciples are called to spread the Gospel worldwide.
Thus the Lord Jesus connects His resurrection with mission.
To us this means: do not be silent, but speak of Jesus.
