Because it is given unto you
to know the mysteries
of the kingdom of heaven,
but to them it is not given.

Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven.
That’s strange …
Isn’t a parable meant to clarify something?
Yes, but a parable also separates the hearers.
He who is blind and deaf to the secrets of the Kingdom does not understand it.
On him or her, the similarities have the opposite effect.
The good listeners only need half a word.
For the disobedient, one word is not enough.
The preaching, the teaching in the Word always works something out.
We are humiliated by it or we are hardened by it.
It is given to you, says the Lord Jesus.
So they don’t own it.
It is no credit to us when we come to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom.
The mystery of salvation is shown to His friends according to His will.
