ETERNAL COMFORT
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
¹⁶Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has LOVED us and given us ETERNAL COMFORT and GOOD HOPE by grace, ¹⁷comfort and strengthen your hearts IN EVERY GOOD WORK AND WORD.
We MAY and SHOULD direct our prayers, ONLY to God the Father, and we should pray IN HIS NAME UNTO GOD, not only as HIS FATHER, but as OUR FATHER in and through him.
The free GRACE and MERCY of God are what we hope for, and NOT ANY WORTH OR MERIT OF OURSELVES.
The more pleasure you take in the word, and works, and ways of God, the more likely you shall be to persevere therein.
But, if you are wavering in faith, and of a doubtful mind, halting and faltering in your duty, it is no wonder that you will be a STRANGER TO THE JOY OF A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
May God strengthen your hearts IN EVERY GOOD WORK AND WORD.
