Isaiah 61:10 NASB
I will rejoice greatly in the Lord,
My soul will exult in my God;
For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,
He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Devotional
This is God’s promise to his people after their Messiah comes with healing and power to bless them with the Lord’s favor.
In many ways, this is our promise as Christians.
We do rejoice greatly because God has delivered us from law, sin, and death through the coming of our Savior and Lord.
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, as God’s children, we are clothed with Christ and given garments of salvation and robes of his righteousness.
Galatians 3:26-27
²⁶For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. ²⁷For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
Prayer suggestions
▪︎ Thank God for seeing you as righteous in Jesus His Son.
▪︎ Thank your Lord for paying the price for your sins to give you life.
▪︎ Thank your Lord for cleansing you from your sin.
▪︎ Thank your Lord for empowering you to live for His glory.
▪︎ Ask God to help you to live in such a way that those around you may see that He made you a new person in Him.
