Devotional
Anger is a strong feeling of displeasure.
It is an emotional expression over something.
Anger is not evil in itself; it is what we do with it that makes it right or wrong.
When we are angry, the Word of God encourages us that we shouldn’t allow it to lead us to sin.
Ephesians 4:26-27
²⁶Be angry, and yet do not sin;
do not let the sun go down on your anger,
²⁷and do not give the devil an opportunity.
Being angry over sin and the ills of society is the right use of anger.
Remember that Jesus Christ was angry when He found people turning the house of God into a marketplace; He made a whip and drove them out of the temple
John 2:14-16
¹⁴And He found in the temple those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables. ¹⁵And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables; ¹⁶and to those who were selling the doves He said, “Take these things away; stop making My Father’s house a place of business.”
He used His anger correctly.
On the contrary, some people destroy property, insult others, fight, or even take their own lives when they are angry, which is the wrong use of anger.
Dear friends, don’t get out of control when you are angry; be in control and think of how to make good use of the anger to be a blessing to God and the people around you.
