Revelation 2:10 AV
Fear none of those things
which thou shalt suffer:
behold, the devil shall cast
some of you into prison,
that ye may be tried;
and ye shall have tribulation ten days:
be thou faithful unto death,
and I will give thee a crown of life.
Devotional
My mission is to minister wherever God directs.
The book “The Cost of Discipleship”, tells of the life of a man who in our time gave God all he had.
Dietrich Bonhöffer, at the age of 24, became a teacher of theology in Berlin.
When the Nazis challenged the integrity of the Christian Church, he had to choose between the new order and conflict. Courageously he made his choice. He detached himself from the theological school and began an intensive fight in Christ’s name.
When the Gestapo imprisoned him, he carried on a Christian ministry in the concentration camp among those who were to be put to death. On Himmler’s order, Bonhöffer was executed.
In these days of world crisis, we are being called upon to offer to God our all our faith, our talents, our possessions, our love.
Although you and I hold life dear, we have our Master’s assurance that even in death “he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.” Do we not have the promise of the Father, that faithfulness unto death means a crown of life?
