Therefore I say unto you,
What things soever ye desire,
when ye pray,
believe that ye receive them,
and ye shall have them.

The royal way is pointed out here.
Praying and believing that you will receive these things. So it is very clearly a prayer of faith.
Calling on the Lord to ask Him what He has promised.
Faith refers to the promise.
Remember the word spoken to Your servant, on which You gave him hope. The faith that so rests in the promised is never put to shame.
The Lord is the God of truth. He will never retract what He once spoke. Faith rests in the promise and the prayer of faith brings the promise to the Lord.
And on prayer it is given to the one who asks.
The promise is obtained in the way of prayer.
That way is shown here by the Lord Jesus.
It is the royal way.
Do we walk it?
All other ways disappoint. They cannot benefit us.
Also all things that we desire, but that God has never promised, disappoint.
His promises do never fail.
