Matthew 24:37-39
³⁷For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. ³⁸For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, ³⁹and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
2 Peter 3:5-7
⁵It escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, ⁶through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. ⁷But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
It is rare in our modern world to drive a car, bus, or van, without having it properly insured. In my, and many other countries you are punishable by law, if you don’t have an insurance on your car.
These laws exist to protect people financially in case an accident would occur.
For a similar reason God has also made a provision, which offers you protection. Which exists to rescue your soul from eternal damnation.
Through the sacrifice of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, by offering His Son, as a sacrificial lamb on the cross of Calvary, He purchased salvation for the entire human race.
To benefit from the insurance you have on your car, or any other thing, you had to agree with the terms of the insurance company, sign the contract, and have to continue to do your monthly payments.
In a similar way you also cannot benefit from salvation without believing in Jesus Christ, picking up your cross, and continuing to follow your Lord and Savior.
God has delayed Jesus’s second coming, and we don’t know when He will come, but one thing is sure: whatever will be first, whether He returns, or we rise from the dead, one day we all will stand before His judgment throne.
Hebrews 9:27
It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment.
Whatever comes first, Jesus’s return, or our resurrection, to benefit from His salvation you will have to follow the Christ before that time.
▪︎ Just like knowing that an insurance office, that offers a car insurance, exists, is not enough to be protected,
▪︎ knowing that there is a loving God, who offers salvation, is also not enough to be protected from the consequences of sin.
You know, death doesn’t come on appointment, and it doesn’t let you know when it will arrive.
I know from experience that it’s arrival can be very quick.
One second you may be sitting, and talking to someone, and within the twinkling of an eye, you are gone, laying on the floor without heartbeat, without breath.
I’m glad that God granted me still some more time to warn you for that moment. And I wish you would all be ready to meet your Creator.
Why should you not at this very moment secure the salvation of your soul, and be assured that you too will spend eternity in heaven, with the Lord, the angels, and the holy saints of God?
Dear friend, if you are not sure that you belong to the Christ, I can tell you, that you do not yet belong to Him! For you would know if you were. Start following Him right now, and avoid hell, which has been made for the devil and his cohort of darknes.
Matthew 25:41
Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels.
