1 John 3:13
Don’t be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.
A servant is not better than his master.
If you are not of the world, then you hate the world.
If you are drawn with cords of eternal love from this present evil world, and have been translated into the kingdom of God’s eternal love, you are a stranger in this world. Because she lies in evil.
She is absorbed in sin.
She seeks and invents the things that are from below.
You too?
Then you will perish with the world.
Repent!
Give the world the bill of divorce!
Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness!
That will cost you the hatred of the world.
Then you must accept your Lord’s inheritance, “In the world thou shalt have tribulation.”
But then you also have His encouragement: “I have overcome the world.”
On the other hand, you may share in the love of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
In return, you are being prepared for the heavenly inheritance.
That means your sufferings are short and incomparable to the glory that will be revealed.
O the love of God in Christ Jesus gloriously manifested in your soul! Then let the world hate. Poor world, it will pass anyway.
