1 John 2:28
Now, little children, abide in Him,
so that when He appears,
we may have confidence
and not shrink away from Him
in shame at his coming.
Boldness is a word that is often mentioned in connection with the Lord’s Supper.
But what is that actually?
It is: to say everything without hesitation; pour out your whole heart.
Psalm 81 taught us from a young age: Open your mouth wide. Just think of those little newborn birds in a nest when the parent bird returns with food.
Psalm 62 also speaks of it: Pour out your heart before Him!
Disciples had boldness to speak the word of God freely.
The Lord grant that to all.
This word is also used with regard to prayer: to come boldly to the throne of grace.
How is this possible?
Just about the fresh and living Way: the Christ.
But so too there is boldness in His future to stand without fear before His judgment seat.
He who has begun a good work in you will complete it.
