1 John 2:28
Now, little children, abide in Him,
so that when He appears,
we may have confidence
and not shrink away from Him
in shame at His coming.
Remain in Him.
The children of faith must abidingly put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is and remains the Rock, Whose work is complete. In Him pilgrims may rest perseveringly.
Tell yourself now, is not the love of the Father manifested in Christ sufficient?
Are the mercies in Christ not sufficient?
Set yourselves in the midst of the mercies of God in Christ.
Abide in Him. That means
▪︎ faithful, keep the pledge,
▪︎ persist in prayers,
▪︎ persist in reading,
▪︎ persist in hearing,
▪︎ persist in wanting to be admonished,
▪︎ persist in wanting to be comforted.
Do you consider all these things to what extent that is a living reality for you and you?
Abide by the love of the Father. Is that an activity of ours?
No. All those who endure shall confess: through Christ who strengthens me.
