1 John 2:10
The one who loves his brother
abides in the Light
and there is no cause for stumbling in him.
Love is the fulfillment of the law.
We are naturally unloving. That is why we are in darkness. We do not see the Lord. We don’t see each other. We have a totally wrong image of God and of each other.
But when the Lord Jesus shines in our lives as the Light of the world, that will change. He is the Sun of righteousness, Who puts everything in the right light in our lives.
When He comes by His Spirit, He brings everything. Light, life and love.
▪︎ From that love, we bemoan the distance, the separation, which sin makes between God and our neighbor.
▪︎ From that love, the sorrow over that separation is known, the guilt is appropriated.
▪︎ From that love, we see God, Triune as the highest Good and we seek Him above all.
▪︎And from that love we also see our neighbor in the right light. We get inner compassion while he is still in the dark. We come to endure and love, even our enemies.
Stephen so plainly revealed it, when he was dying and prayed, Lord, do not impute this sin to them.
