1 John 2:8
On the other hand,
I am writing a new commandment to you,
which is true in Him and in you,
because the darkness is passing away
and the true Light is already shining.
It happened once, on a winter evening, that the power went out.
It got pitch dark. In the house, you had to feel around to find your way
The familiar surroundings suddenly seemed very different.
John writes about walking in darkness.
However, it is not an exciting walk in the woods, or a dropping in the dark, which young people enjoy.
John says, “But he that hates his brother is in darkness, and knows not where he goes: for the darkness has blinded his eyes.”
There are people who call themselves Christians, but meanwhile they were hate their brother or sister.
They behave like people walking in the dark.
They can’t see a hand in front of their eyes.
They are not blinded by a bright light, but by darkness.
How bad it is when that happens in the church of Christ.
▪︎Then you trip over each other.
▪︎Then the congregation falls apart.
How different it is where brothers and sisters love one another.
They walk in the light.
They are one another to a hand and a foot.
Let us then walk in the light with Jesus.
