1 John 2:3-6
³By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.
⁴The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; ⁵but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: ⁶the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.
Devotional
You may have been in love once.
Do you know what happens then?
▪︎Then you would prefer to be together all day.
▪︎ Then you would like to tell everyone how you feel about that other person;
▪︎ Then you would also like to tell everyone why you are so happy inside.
But not everyone is interested.
What good is it to them if you are in love? Nothing.
Unless they notice that your boyfriend or girlfriend has a good influence on you: you are happier, no longer argue, pay more attention to the sadness of your classmates, etc.
Then you have a chance that your friends are curious about that special asset of yours.
It may sound strange, but with the love of God it is often exactly the same.
When you are impressed by that, you also change. You have to think about it again and again and would prefer to tell everyone about it.
But not everyone is interested in your experiences.
Why should they listen to you? So let see who God is to you. If you ‘keep God’s Word’ – that is, live close to the Bible – His love will shine through you more and more; from the inside out.
Then your friends may ask, “Hey, can you tell me more about Him?”
