1 John 2:2
And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins;
and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
Is every man, head by head, reconciled to God through the blood of Christ?
An important question, isn’t it?
Yet that is not what John means here when he says that Christ is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world.
He does make it clear that Christ is the Savior of all believers, of all places and times.
The Gospel must therefore be preached among all nations.
Furthermore, Colossians 1:20 says that the Father through Christ has reconciled all things to Himself, whether those on earth or those in heaven.
So the Atonement is broader than just the human world.
Creation eagerly awaits the revelation of the children of God.
What a future!
Colossians 1:20
and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself,
having made peace through the blood of His cross;
through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.
