my little children,
I am writing these things to you
so that you may not sin.
And if anyone sins,
we have an Advocate with the Father,

Devotional
The apostle John emphasizes the facts of salvation in view of a heresy.
The salvation brought by the Lord Jesus is real redemption.
It rests in the facts of salvation. Sitting at the right hand of the Father is also a mighty fact.
When there are sins, this text shows us a way with them.
Upwards, to Him Who sits there enthroned in all glory.
Come to Him this day with all sins, perhaps of this very day.
Call on Him, because only then will you have an intercessor that can really help.
We never come to terms with those sins alone.
For that, we need the blood of Him, Who was the Lamb, but Whose blood is sprinkled on the heavenly altar.
Jesus is the heavenly paraclete.
Just call Him. He knows what to do!
