These are some of the worrisome reactions I’ve received over the years.

We urgently need a pastor!
Oh? I am available!
Well that in itself is nice, but because you have had your education with a different denomination, we cannot ake use of your services.

We urgently need a pastor!
Oh? I am available!
Yes, but you are already over 70!
In our churches the pastor has long since retired.

Yes, but you have already had a heart attack and later also had a cardiac arrest, you were almost 15 minutes without breathing, you have difficulty walking and you have asthma and diabetes. We can think I better look at someone in better health.
Now that cancer and a partial spinal cord injury have been added to me, I will no longer be accepted by them at all, they may not realize that the word can also be spoken from a wheelchair.
“we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted” (Isaiah 53:4)

Yes, but I’ve heard your sermons.
You are way too… well let me put it this way… way too old-fashioned.
You see homosexuality as sin, and you take the Bible way too literally, our community sees it all much more broadly. You really don’t have to stick to everything that’s written so precisely.

We urgently need a pastor!
Oh? I am available!
Yes, but you keep rambling on about the need for repentance, dying to sin, and living a holy life according to God’s will. If you were to become our pastor, we wouldn’t even keep one church member.

Oh? I am available!
That will be difficult for you because…
▪︎ You are too Reformed for a Full Gospel or Pentecostal church.
▪︎ You are too Evangelical for a Reformed Church
▪︎ You stick too rigidly to the Bible for the Protestant Churches
▪︎ Your message is too intrusive for the Baptist churches
I don’t think you will be welcomed anywhere.

After many years, at least the last comment still turns out to be the truth.
But what do you think is the reason that churches have problems to find pastors for their assemblies?
And what do you think that I should do?
I can’t help it!
I can’t keep my mouth shut.
I see millions lost worldwide, and if I know where to find salvation, what kind of inhuman creature would I be if I kept my mouth shut, watching them go to their eternal destruction?
If I am not welcome anywhere, then I will tell people via the internet (where I also notice that His Word is not welcome, by blockages and censorship)
