1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
In our life it is all about being freed from our sins.
However, we cannot do that ourselves.
It’s about being liberated.
And because Christ effected the atonement on the cross, that is also possible.
But now He does ask that we confess our sins.
Not to obscure, belittle or hide, but honestly tell them to the Lord God.
Come forth with them, and then plead at the same time on the finished work of the Lord Jesus. Then we will experience that God is faithful and just, that He will forgive us our sins.
For Jesus’ sake, He takes our sins from us and lays them on the strong shoulders of Jesus, and then He sees us as the righteousness of the Lord Jesus.
So will He do to everyone who confesses his sins.
God is faithful and just in this, for Jesus’ sake.
