1 John 1:8-10
⁸If we say we have no sin,
we are deceiving ourselves
and the truth is not in us.
⁹If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
¹⁰If we say we have not sinned,
we make Him a liar
and His word is not in us.
You have probably experienced that you had to talk about something you did wrong. With your parents, your brother or sister, with your boyfriend or girlfriend. That is not always easy, but it is important: do not hide, but talk about what is bothering you.
Talking about it gives relief.
The last time Jesus and Peter interacted was in the courtroom where Peter denied his Master, remember?
Three times he said, I do not know Him. Awful! Immediately afterwards, Jesus looked at him for a moment. Peter will never forget that look. He could go through the ground!
After the resurrection day, Jesus is the first to visit Peter (Céphas).
There is so much to talk about.
He knows how miserable Peter feels. What a relief that must have been to Peter!
- What is bothering you at this moment?
- What sins do you need to talk out with the Lord Jesus?
He also looks for you through this devotional and says full of love: just tell it Me, without holding back.
What a relief! If we confess our sins, then God is so faithful and just that He forgives us our sins.
