1 John 1:4
These things we write,
so that our joy may be made complete.
In the preceding verses John gives the main content of his letter.
Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God manifested in human flesh.
And he also writes why he writes about this.
That your joy may be full.
You must know, there is an unparalleled joy in faith that binds, binds, to the living Christ. All joy in the things of this time, is nothing compared to it.
In the communion of faith with Him tears are dried, also the tears of lack of God. This joy has already been kindled by Word and Spirit among the readers of this letter.
But it must be fulfilled, even fuller.
Until once she rises to the highest apex by the light of His countenance.
