1 John 1:3
What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also,
so that you too may have fellowship with us;
and indeed our fellowship is with the Father,
and with His Son Jesus Christ.
devotional
The love of God poured out in your heart always makes you gracious.
That which John has seen and heard, that is which he declares to us.
That is unspeakable.
That is beyond anything.
He has seen eternal life, which was with the Father and was revealed to us.
He who has seen this in truth counts all things as loss and dung, for the excellency of the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
But whoever has seen that also grants it to someone else.
If you yourself
- have tasted some of the love of Christ,
- felt some of His life,
- seen some of His glory,
you become a witness.
Everyone in the place where God puts him or her.
John was an apostle. A sent one, a proclaimer of that eternal Life.
He had one desire, that you also might have fellowship with us.
- Has the Word already borne that fruit in your life?
- Do you have fellowship with God’s children?
- Is their choice, your choice, their love, your love?
- Is their sadness, your sadness,
- their desire, your desire?
O blessed is he who, from the communion with God, may also experience the communion of the saints. Here it is still in part, but soon it will be perfect.
