Come unto me,
all [ye] that labour
and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Devotional
When Jesus pronounces ‘Woe to you’, He does so with great sorrow.
Chorazin and Bethsaida were on the north side of the Sea of Galilee.
Jesus saw the judgment they brought upon them.
Inhabitants of those cities hardened.
Who among us continues to harden?
Is judgment worth more to us than eternal benefit?
Despite all those who abandoned Jesus,
▪︎ He fully agreed with His Father’s method and plan,
▪︎ He fully agreed with His Father with whom He maintained such a unique bond.
The things of God’s kingdom are hidden from the wise and prudent.
Infants may hear and keep the Gospel like a child.
Jesus invites every weary to come.
No one has to succumb to the burden anymore.
Jesus’ yoke is easy and his burden is light.
A yoke is meant to make the load light.
Whoever takes the yoke of the Torah with Jesus does not succumb to legal precepts of Pharisees.
In following Jesus the law is fulfilled in love.
That gives an unprecedented peace.
Given rest, mercy, and peace of mind.
