Matthew 11:4 AV
Jesus answered and said unto them,
Go and shew John again those things
which ye do hear and see:

“Go and tell John what you hear and see…” (Matthew 11:4)
Read: Mark 7:31-37
And they brought to him a deaf man who could hardly speak, and begged Him to lay His hand on him.
Why did they bring this deaf man to Jesus?
How come there was such an expectation of faith?
Mark tells us that the news about Him spread everywhere into all the surrounding district of Galilee. (Mark 1:28)
Jesus’ ministry on earth was done in only a short period of time, and anyone who expected the Messiah needed to know that He had come. After all, the prophet Isaiah had written many times that these would be the signs of the Messiah (Isaiah 29:18; 35:5; 61:1)?
Could then by signs, as miraculous healings, any man know that the Messiah had come?
Well.., NO!
The world will pass by these signs.
At most people will find it curious, interesting or even irritating!
But to all who, through faith in the Scriptures, expect redemption from God for this world, they will be joyful signs.
The worldly clergy then and now have doubted the miracles from the first moment. Even now, when someone is cured ,one would rather give glory to science than to God!
And if science is dumbfounded at a cure, the miracle would rather be denied than to give glory to God.
But general considerations are of no use to us! God asks us in this section, “How is it with you?”
Is there then a joyful thanksgiving in our hearts, or is there a critical attitude?
When we read Mark 7:31-37 in prayer, God gives us the great opportunity
▪︎ to get to know and accept Jesus in all His glory
▪︎ or … to reject Him, in complacency.
