Matthew 4:21 NASB
Going on from there
He saw two other brothers,
James the son of Zebedee,
and John his brother,
in the boat with Zebedee their father,
mending their nets;
and He called them.
Study
These two brothers would later mean a lot to the first congregation.
James became the first martyr among the apostles (Acts 12:1-2), while John probably lived the longest.
The expression ‘fixing or mending their nets’ does not mean that they were repairing the nets, but that they were preparing them for the next catch.
