I will make you fishers of men (Matthew 4:19)
Matthew 4:19 NASB
And He said to them,
Follow Me,
and I will make you fishers of men.
Devotional
The disciples were made fishers of men.
They could not qualify themselves for that, they had to be qualified for it.
Even today there are still fishermen of men.
Have you already been caught by one of them?
Or are you still an evil fish?
Are you still living peacefully on your own account?
Remember that evil fish will come into the sea of God’s wrath.
There are evil fish that pretend to be good fish.
They are not outside the grid like pagans and church leavers.
They’re in the net, coming under the preaching, but they’re not in Christ.
The catch from the fishing net is separated on the bank.
Hypocrites will be cast out.
The good fish often fear to be evil fish.
Seeing in itself there is so much cause for fear.
It will therefore be cause for wonder if they are not cast away.
The glory of this does not belong to the fishers of men, but to the Lord, who called the sons of men and qualified them to fish from men.
