Sea of Galilee
Matthew 4:18 NASB
Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee,
He saw two brothers,
Simon who was called Peter,
and Andrew his brother,
casting a net into the sea;
for they were fishermen.

▪︎ The Sea of Galilee was also called
▪︎ Lake (or sea) of Kinneret’ (Numbers 34:11; Joshua 13:27),
▪︎ Lake (or sea) of Gennesaret’ (Luke 5:1)
▪︎ or Lake (or sea) of Tiberias’ (John 21:1).
The lake is about 12 km wide, 21 km long and it is located 212 m above sea level.
The nickname Peter (rock) was already promised to Simon by Jesus at the first meeting (John 1:43)
