Matthew 4:10 NASB
Then Jesus said to him,
“Go, Satan! For it is written,
‘You shall worship the Lord your God,
and serve Him only.'”
Devotional
You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.
During the temptation in the wilderness, the Savior appealed to the Word of God. The Word was His guide. The Lord did not bow to the devil. He did not honor satan.
May the Word of God, by grace, guide you also in the midst of temptations.
Only the Lord may be worshiped and only He may be served.
Before the fall, this was a glorious reality.
But because of the deep fall in Adam, man has become a worshiper and servant of satan.
Satan has no control over the kingdoms of the world, nor over that which he sets before man.
We must serve God alone.
You should not be in two minds.
You should not serve two masters.
Reading the Scriptures and reading pernicious literature cannot coexist.
May it be your heartfelt desire to worship the Lord and serve Him alone. This is only possible through the ministry of Him Who was called to be a servant of satan, so that we, slaves of satan, might become servants of God.
