Psalms 27:4-6 NASB
⁴One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.
⁵For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. ⁶And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
Devotional
Persecuted for their faith…
Many people are on the run.
Even today many people have to come together in secret.
They are not sure of their lives, but they still risk being arrested.
Apparently that meeting is so important to them that they give a lot for it.
There are organizations, Open Doors for example, that are eager to encourage fellow Christians in other countries. Perhaps you could take a closer look at their work, for example if you have to give a lecture for school.
Today we pray to God for all those people who have had to flee or are imprisoned because of their faith. We also pray for those who work as ‘tent makers’ in these countries.
You probably go to church on Sundays.
There are young people who think it’s a feast every time.
But I also know a lot of people who don’t really jump on Sundays.
It’s that your parents are poking you out of bed again, and you don’t feel like arguing…
Let’s thank God that we in many western countries still have the freedom to come together. Take advantage of that freedom, and think of others who miss it!
