1 Thessalonians 4:1-3
¹Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you excel still more.
²For you know what commandments we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

Devotional
Obedience to Christ requires service in His name.
When Christ came into my life, I began to experience a wonderful peace in my heart. I had a sinful heart; but when I called on Christ, He cleansed it.
Soon came a day when I realized God’s will for me was that I should surrender myself wholly to Him in service.
To lay everything upon the altar of God was not easy. I had my cherished hopes. I considered them as dear as life itself. The struggle was great. I had the choice of obeying God’s will or departing from Him.
While I was on my knees, God won the victory.
I went through hard trials and trying experiences yet God had a better plan for me than my own.
My life is in His control. He is using it in a much better way than I could have ever used it myself for my own selfish purposes.
Prayer suggestion
▪︎ Ask God to help you to realize that His holy will for you is that you should be holy, spirit-filled, and to be dedicated children of God.
▪︎ Ask God to prepare you to offer yourselves as living sacrifices to Him.
