Mark 7:37 (AV)
And were beyond measure astonished,
saying, He hath done all things well:
he maketh both the deaf to hear,
and the dumb to speak.
When we get older, it happens that we become deaf.
Today we read that a man is not only deaf, but also spoke with difficulty, i.e. it was almost impossible to understand what he was saying. He just produced some sounds.
This man is now being healed by the Lord Jesus.
What a wonderful miracle this must have been for this man. Now he could speak to everyone again and he could hear what was being said.
However, it was not only a great miracle for the man in question, but it also made a deep impression on the bystanders. They couldn’t keep quiet about it.
We will continue the line to our personal life.
Can we not also be much too silent about the great deeds of God, and especially if we may know that the Lord has given us a mouth to speak?
I mean that now both outwardly and inwardly.
After all, by nature we are dumb before God. We don’t know how to utter a single good word for Him. To be able and allowed to do that, repentance is necessary! We must become born again, we must become a new creation.
Only then can we and will speak in His honor!
With our mouths, but certainly also with our hearts!
