Mark 6:50 (AV)
For they all saw him,
and were troubled.
And immediately he talked with them,
and saith unto them,
Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
In the waves, against the wind, the disciples overcome the terror of their lives.
Someone is walking on the water. And these grown-ups, these apostles have screamed with fear.
We should never think too big of a person, because he is nothing.
▪︎ Fright entered our conscience when we fell into paradise and the former king of creation, is now frightened by the rustling of a leaf in the dark.
▪︎ Disbelief and a wounded conscience make them shudder at the unknown. They even thought it was a ghost.
But now the Lord, Who came to them, says: be of good cheer.
How would we?
To be of good cheer in the midst of all dangers and the unknown?
Well, it can only be when the Lord is with us.
Then we will not fear tens of thousands, Why not?
Well, God is on our side. That is what gives peace of mind.
It’s me!
If there is an unknown rumor in the house in the evening, children fear.
But if father says: It is I, then they are at ease.
