Mark 5:40 (AV)
And they laughed him to scorn.
But when he had put them all out,
he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel,
and them that were with him,
and entereth in where the damsel was lying.
Jesus intervenes. He has come to bring life to this house of death. He doesn’t need all those mourners who work so loudly for that. Certainly not if they show by their mockery that they do not believe in Jesus’ word. So they have to disappear. He drives them all away.
How does He do that? Does He use force in it? Or does He use His eyes only to force them to remain silent and then leave? It is not described. In any case, He achieves His purpose. They leave one by one. Jesus’ omnipotence is enough to make them go.
If we think about this carefully, this is actually something to be afraid of. Do you see that no one can compete with Jesus? That His will always will be done? That no man can resist His omnipotence? Whatever we think, when He uses His omnipotence, we have no choice.
It will be the same with the last judgment. The goats on His left will hear Him say, “Depart from Me.” And what will they do? Scripture says they are going. Yes, they do what He says. For the wicked and the unconverted this is a thing to shudder.
