Mark 1:42 KJV
And as soon as he had spoken,
immediately the leprosy departed from him,
and he was cleansed.

And at once the leprosy [completely] left him and he was made clean [by being healed]. [AMP] And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean. [ESV] Then and there the leprosy was gone, his skin smooth and healthy. [MSB] Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. [NIV] Instantly the leprosy disappeared--the man was healed. Now let us see what this verse is telling us.
The leprosy departed from him
What could cleanse a man of such disease in a moment aside from God’s power?
If God can and will do this for a stranger will He not do this for a child? (Matthew 8:4).
The leper is healed by the word of our Lord Jesus. Immediately the leprosy goes away and the man is cleansed. The Lord Jesus takes with the disease also the reproach associated with this disease away.
The fact that the leprosy immediately leaves the sick person shows the authority of Jesus over the sickness.
It always appears that with healings by Jesus the sickness or the possession must immediately blow the retreat (cf. Mark 1:31; 2:12; 3:5; 5:13,29,42: 7:35; 10:52 (but also compare Mark 8:23-25).
