Can you also be so disappointed when you are wronged?
You meant it so well, and yet you were laughed at.
You can experience this as a student, but also as a teacher.
It really is not nice to be laughed at!
I have noticed one thing in various African countries: It is the respect they have for each other!
▪︎ You don’t pass someone without greeting.
It is part of having respect for the other person.
▪︎ If someone is mistaken, you don’t laugh,
but you keep listening carefully until the other person has finished talking.
▪︎ You are not chuckling when someone almost falls.
You run to him or her and ask if he or she is well.
▪︎ If someone is late, there is no restless movement back and forth while looking at the watch.
You ask if something nasty happened. You put someone at ease.
Living like this
▪︎ takes away the tension
▪︎ gives you a sense of dignity.
▪︎ gives you the feeling of “I’m allowed to be here!”
Matthew 22:37-40 AMP
Jesus said:
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
This is the first and greatest commandment.
The second is like it,
You shall love your neighbor as yourself
[that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].
The whole Law and the [writings of the] Prophets
depend on these two commandments.
Loving God above all and neighbor as yourself.
How much do we love ourselves? And how much do we love others?
Someone may say, ‘I love God.’ But if he says that and he hates other Christians, he is telling a lie. He can see other believers but he does not love them. So, he cannot love God that he has not seen. This is the rule that God has given us. He has told us that anyone who loves him should also love other Christians. (See 1 John 4:20-21)
Do you want to be laughed at ?!
No, ofcourse not!
But It happened to Jesus.
He was booed and mocked for our sins.
He bore the punishment that was due to us.
Why? Because God loved the world so much
that He gave His only begotten Son to save us.
Come very close to Him, and continue to follow Him!
