These days I see a lot of fear with people.
People are feeling a sense of dread while the Corona virus is going around.
The world (and the powers of darkness) want you to be afraid.
▪︎ Remember the news in the seventies? We should have an ice age now (from 2000) that would last at least for 80 years..!
Just in case you don’t know. This didn’t happen.
▪︎ Remember the news in the eighties? The hole in the ozone layer and acidic rain would cause that by 2005 there would be no more plants and trees, so from 2005 nobody on earth can still eat vegetables..!
Just in case you don’t know. This didn’t happen.
▪︎ Now they want you to believe that we’re the last generation because of global warming by 2050 all life ends, by 2100 half the world is flooded, and so on.
Just in case you don’t know. This also will not happen.
Well let me try to give you some comfort.
When you’re in a relationship with God you don’t have to be afraid of anything! More than a 100 times the scriptures tell us: “Do not be afraid!”
So I want to tell you today that panicking and fear is not an appropriate response for a Christian to what is going on.
Deuteronomy 4:39 tells us:
Know therefore today,
and take it to your heart,
that the Lord,
He is God in heaven above
and on the earth below;
there is no other.
So the Bible is very clear that God is involved in what is going on in the world.
Nothing that happened here in the past, happens here now, or in the future, is out of His control.
What is happening on the planet in the past, now, or in the future, is not happening separate from God. And God loves His own, so we have no reason at all to panic or be afraid. Fear and panic are not appropriate responds to the present situation if you belong to Him.
In fact we should not be surprised with what we are facing with the corona virus right now, for if people leave God, and ignore Him, they cannot expect His blessings. And we know that there is no safety, and no security outside God.
So friends, you shouldn’t fear this sickness, and panic, but fear God.
Jesus said in Matthew 10:28
Do not fear those who kill the body
but are unable to kill the soul;
but rather fear Him
who is able to destroy
both soul and body in hell.
