Matthew 5:20
For I say unto you,
That except your righteousness
shall exceed (surpass) the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees,
ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Deuteronomy 32:4
His work is perfect,
For all His ways are just;
A God of faithfulness and without injustice,
Righteous and upright is He.
Sometimes you may forget about God’s righteousness and take decisions based on your own righteousness, or based on your own human wisdom. Decisions you probably will regret later.
The scribes and Pharisees fell into this trap, and gave priority to their own righteousness based on their own wisdom and traditions (Matthew 23).
Dear friends, I would like to ask you to read the entire chapter of Matthew 23 today, and stay far from any conduct that will make you look like the scribes or Pharisees.
Accepting the righteousness of the Christ, and imitating the way of life that Jesus gave us as an example, are the things you can do, that supersedes and exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees.
May you continue to humbly follow the Lord Jesus.
