Psalms 69:30-32
I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. This will please the LORD more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hoofs. The poor will see and be glad — you who seek God, may your hearts live!
When we praise God, our words and songs should not only be honoring Him for what He did, and still does.
It should not only be so, that God can rejoice in your praises, but it should also produce joy and gladness in your own heart.
And a result of that will be, that others too will rejoice and be glad.
▪︎ If you really praise Him, you also will be following Him,
▪︎ If you really follow Him, Jesus will be living in you,
▪︎ and because Jesus lives in you, you will become more and more like like Him.
▪︎ and when you become more and more like Him, you will receive two different reactions.
• Those who are poor, and those who are called, will rejoice with you, and praise God with you, because Jesus does His works through you.
• And those who are from the world will hate you for exactly the same reason.
Our praise towards God, started because of His love towards us, and for what He did, and still does for us.
His generosity to us, should also stir up our generosity towards others, which in turn will bless them, and lead them to praising God as well.
▪︎ He gave us His Word, so we too should share His Word to those who are lost for all eternity without it.
▪︎ He gave us food when we were hungry, so we too should share our food with those who are hungry.
▪︎ He forgave us our sins, so we too should forgive others.
Prayer suggestions:
▪︎ Praise God for the wonderful and mighty things He has done.
▪︎ Thank God for pouring out His blessings upon you.
▪︎ Thank God for keeping His promises.
▪︎ Thank God for providing for you the way of salvation.
▪︎ Ask God to empower and strengthen you as you commit yourself to serve Him, and encourage others for His glory.
