Just imagine, you are on your way in life, and on a certain moment your way is blocked by a huge wall. In this wall there are a number of doors in different sizes.
▪︎ Some are big enough to enter with a whole group of people at once.
▪︎ Some have more ordinary sizes like you will find in houses
▪︎ Some are much smaller, and even one which is so small that you can only enter when you crawl on your knees.
One thing is similar with each door. Each door had a name plate, so you can choose which door you should take. Depending on what you really want.
▪︎ One door was named “Follow your dreams”
▪︎ an other was named “Doing what you want”
▪︎ a third was named “Doing the will of men”
▪︎ again an other “Doing what you think that is right”
▪︎ then there was a door named “Doing your own will”
▪︎ one door named “Doing good works”
▪︎ and one named “Doing the will of God”
All Christians came on a certain moment in their life for one of these choices
● One door was named “Follow your dreams”
“Yes, this is the door for me”, I heard someone say.
“My dream has been for years to have big meetings in stadiums and lead hundreds to my Lord.”
● An other was named “Doing what you want”
“Yes”, I heard some people say.
“I want to build churches, and never got a chance to do so, and by going through that door, I can at last start doing what I want, without others being able to stop me”.
● A third was named “Doing the will of the majority”
“I will choose this door”, I heard a few others say.
“Whatever I tried to do, I was always criticized. It seemed that it was always me against the rest. And now at last if I do the will of the majority, I will have the majority on my side.
● Again an other “Doing what you think that is right”
“We will go through this door” some others said.
“Everybody has an opinion, and I believe that when the minister preaches, he is just ventilating his opinions, and that he just wants us to speak and act like he does. From now on, I will just do what I think that is right.”
● Then there was a door named “Doing your own will”
“Always I had to do what others told me” someone said “I will use that door, so I at last can do my own will!”
● One door named “Doing good works”
A handful of People decided to go through this door.
● and one named “Doing the will of God”
Only a very few went through that little door. Most didn’t like to bow that deep, and also “doing the will of God”, didn’t seem very attractive to many.
What door will you choose to continue the way of your life?
You all have a free choice. God is not forcing you in any direction.
But you should know there is only one way to Him.
The other ways (going through any of the other doors) may give you some temporary satisfaction, but ultimately will not bring you into God’s presence.
Also not if you say you do it for God’s glory.
Be very careful, and make the right choice.
