The question asked was:
Is it okay for a Christian to watch horror movies?
I was wondering…
I was wondering why any born again Christian would ever ask me a question like that?
It is not just this question.
It is actually for all those questions that start with “Is it okay for a Christian…”
Some of those questions can be easily answered with a flat out “NO!”.
Some other are more tricky.
But almost all are leading you to the edge of hell, to the edge of destruction, and when it seems to be harmless, it is not.
It is very harmful for the things asked for, are always things that lead you away from the Christ, are always things that create a distance between you and the Christ.
Why would any born again Christian ever ask a question like that?
It gives me the idea, that the person asking these questions isn’t a Christian at all.
He or she may be in the decision process of becoming a Christian, but has problems to surrender all to Jesus, and is now calculating how much of the old life he or she can keep, and still be safe.
Or maybe you once made an emotional decision to follow Jesus, but never did so with your whole heart.
Maybe you never consciously decided to pick up your cross and follow Him, and the things of this earth are still appealing to you.
If this is you, let me tell you clearly that you have to die on your old way of life before the new life in Christ can start in you.
You need to decide with your whole will, with your whole heart and soul, to follow Jesus.
When you do so, or when you did, these questions will not even come into your mind, for you know what you have received in Christ, and you are dead to the world.
There will be no more longing in you for the things of this world.
Or maybe the background of these questions is even more evil, and they are not asked to get an answer, but to make people doubting.
Those who ask have no part in the fulness of the Christ, and now they try to lure others away from Him as well.
If this is the case with you, then be warned. Satan has made you to do this. And as long as you work for him, as long as you are in his camp, you will also share in the punishment that is prepared for him.
Repent and turn to Jesus while you still can! Once it is too late, it will be too late for all eternity!
